Christmas Celebration with People of Other Faiths

The Catholic Enquiry Center of the Archdiocese of Bangalore along with Infant Jesus Shrine, Viveknagar, celebrated Christmas with people of other faiths at Infant Jesus Shrine premises. The celebrations were held from 6 pm to 9.30 pm. The gracious presence of His Grace the Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado added more joy to the event.

More than Christians, a large number of people belonging to different faiths flocked to the Shrine premises to receive the blessing of Baby Jesus throughout the day. Approximately 2000 people witnessed the birth narration of Jesus Christ presented in different ways. The parish, keeping the spirit of evangelization in mind, had designed a program called ‘Emmanuel: God with us.’

There were more than 200 children from the parish as well as the Bala Yesu Vidyalaya school put up 15 different events on the stage. The presence of special children from Shishu Bhavan and differently-abled from among the crowd was the highlight of the day. The Parish clergy and religious were also present at the celebrations.
