Bengaluru Archbishop inaugurates St. Patrick’s Home: A Spacious and Artistic presbytery

Bengaluru, 13th December 2020:It was a historic and joyous day for the clergy and faithful of St. Patricks Church, Brigade Road, as Archbishop Most Rev. Dr Peter Machado blessed and inaugurated the newly – built presbytery.

“St. Patrick’s Home” as the new building is called was the brainchild of Msgr. C. Francis, the Vicar General and the Parish Priest of St. Patrick’s Church. Many notable dignitaries across the spectrum like Mr Kamal Pant, IPS, Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Mr Zakir Thomas, Principal Commissioner IT, Mr Sudhakar Rao, Commissioner IT (Exemptions), Mr Simon, Superintendent of Police (CID), Mr George of Appellate Tribunal, Mr Jose, Reserve Bank of India Chief and others witnessed the event and raised its prominence.

The blessing and the inauguration were followed by a short felicitation program. Archbishop Peter Machado along with Msgr. S. Jayanathan, Vicar General, felicitated Msgr. C. Francis for his efforts in making St. Patrick’s Home a reality. Much of the works were started and completed after the Covid lockdowns.

Archbishop Peter Machado said, “ Amid the gloom cast by the Covid pandemic, St. Patrick’s home has arisen our joy. It is something to cheer about not only for St. Patrick’s Church but also to the Archdiocese of Bangalore". There were more than 70 priests both religious and diocesan who gathered for the Agape meal.

Msgr. C. Francis and the Parish Clergy thanked everyone who were involved in the successful completion of the new presbytery building which has been erected adjacent to the boys home.
