Inter-Religious Harmony Meet

Bangalore: A ‘Go Green’ initiative & Communal Harmony – A message of peace - to commemorate Eid Meelad un Nabi was launched at Bangalore by Jumma Masjid Trust Board in association with ‘Saviors of Democracy’ by planting saplings at Hazrath Khuddus Saheb Eidgah, Millers road, Bangalore.

The event was witnessed by an august gathering from all Faiths. It was a memorable day coinciding with the celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava. The air was filled with an aura of communal harmony with pontiffs and Dharam Gurus of Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh & Jain religions participating in planting the saplings at the Eidgah.

Archbishop, Most Rev Dr Peter Machado in his message said that it is truly a good occasion to meet all our other religious leaders and also exchange love, harmony and foster unity among us. He complimented the organisers for taking this noble initiative of Tree Planting to commemorate an occasion like this. He emphasised that Jal (Water) Jameen (Land) & Jung (Tree) has no religion and it is natures gift to mankind and it belongs to all.

Besides His Grace, Most Rev. Dr Peter Machado - Archbishop of Bangalore; other Chief guests included:

Moulana Sageer Ahmed Saheb - Ameer-e-Shariyat, Karnataka;

All the speakers were of the view that we have to restore the nature back to its Green stature, which we have consistently damaged over the past many years in the name of development. The event concluded with a message of peace and harmony amongst all communities, and to work together for the betterment of our society.
