The Body of Christ is complete only when migrants too find their place!

Bangalore, August 12, 2019: About 34 participants from different migrant groups met together to plan international migrants’ day at Paalanaa Bhavana, the archdiocesan pastoral centre. It is proposed to celebrate the international migrants’ day on 20th October 2019 at Good Shepherd Auditorium with 24 different groups who hail from different parts of India.

Rev. Fr. Cyril Victor Joseph, the coordinator of the archdiocesan pastoral commissions addressing the gathering said, “The Body of Christ can be more visible and tangible when we work together. The Catholic brethren who come from different tribes as well as nationalities bring a rich variety to the Church of Bangalore. The Body of Christ is complete only when migrants too find their place and face in the main stream Church”.

“The Archdiocese of Bangalore is working systematically to initiate the migrants commission as well as extending its support, so much so, the CBCI is very much elated to adapt the same model in different cosmopolitan cities of India”, said Fr. Edward Thomas, the joint secretary of the commission for migrants.

A thorough evaluation and discussion was held about the different activities of the migrant commission. Migrant groups also expressed their gratitude to the Commission for taking care of their spiritual needs as well as some social and emotional needs.
